My name is Siaya Boyd. I’m a Line Cook for Flagship. I’ve been here for five years, I really, really, enjoy cooking it is my passion, and this is another way for me going to college I can just be here and I can learn what I need to learn from other people who have different techniques different knowledge on food and this is how I learned is by observing and listening.

What does a typical day as a line cook include?

Cooking, making sure, my team is good and helping everybody else out, and the food.

  • Cook and follow recipes for all meals and events.
  • Ensure consistence and quality on all prepared dishes.
  • Maintain line during service hours.
  • Keep a clean and organized work station.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.

What is the best part about being a Flagship Line Cook?

Cooking is the funnest part of my day. I get to make whatever is on the menu or considered fourth line. We make a special dishes whatever ingredients we find in the walk in, and we just make a beautiful dish out of it.
